Dr. Kyla Omilusik recently completed her PhD in Dr. Wilf Jefferies lab examining the trafficking of MHC 1 through the cross presentation as well as the role of calcium channels in T cell homeostasis. She has accepted a postdoctoral position at the university of California San Diego with Dr. Ananda Goldrath. In Dr Goldrath's lab she will be examining the transcriptional and signalling events that regulate the generation and maintenance of T Cell memory.
Dr. Sachi Okamoto has recently accepted a position at the European Molecular Biology Lab in Heidelberg in Germany where she will be working with Dr. Orsolya Barabas. Her Postdoctoral project is "identification of transposon-host interactions in human cells" to understand the transposition event of Sleeping Beauty (SB) transposon and it's regulatory mechanisms in cellular context.
Dr. Linda Rehaume's research in Dr. Bob Hancock's lab studied the role of C-X-C chemokines in mammalian innate immunity. She has accepted a postdoc position at the University of Queensland Diamantina Institute with Professor Ranjeny Thomas. She will be dissecting the cellular mechanisms underlying arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease pathologies in autoimmune spondyloarthropathy. ubc_2011_spring_rehaume_linda.pdf
Dr. Matthias Fischer recently completed his PhD in Dr. Curtis Suttle's lab studing Cafeteria roenbergensis virus and its virophage Mavirus. He has started a postdoc position at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research in Heidelberg, Germany where he will continue to work on viruses of protists. ubc_2011_spring_fischer_matthias.pdf
Joseph recently graduated with a Masters degree from Dr. Lindsay Eltis' lab and moved back to Calgary where he is working as a study co-ordinator for the Department of Population Health Research at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. ubc_2011_spring_joseph_roberts.pdf
