Seminar-Nitric Oxide in Host-Pathogen Interactions

THE UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA
Department of Microbiology and Immunology
presents a seminar by:
Dr. Ferric Fang
Professor of Laboratory Medicine, Microbiology and Medicine, University of Washington
entitled:
Nitric Oxide in Host-Pathogen Interactions

Nitric oxide produced by host phagocytes plays an important role during infection as an antimicrobial mediator.  This lecture will present current knowledge regarding the mechanisms of nitric oxide-mediated bacterial growth inhibition and discuss new insights into additional roles of nitric oxide in host-pathogen interactions.
