IT

In order to streamline support requests and better serve you, we utilize an IT support ticket system. Every support request is assigned a unique ticket number which you can use to track the progress and responses online. For your reference we provide complete archives and history of all your support requests. A valid email address is required to submit a ticket.

For information and forms related to Finance and Onboarding, please visit the Department of Microbiology and Immunology Portal website and login using your M&I Login ID.

Safety and Protection

  • AMS Safewalk - If you feel unsafe walking alone on campus after dark, Safewalk can accompany you to your destination.
  • UBC Campus Security - Campus Security is committed to ensuring the safety and security of students, faculty, staff and visitors. They respond to safety and security concerns, provide first aid and facilities management, and aid emergency services on campus.

  • Here2Talk: Here2Talk connects students with mental health support when they need it. Through this program, all students – domestic or international – currently registered in a B.C. post-secondary institution have access to free, confidential counselling and community referral services, conveniently available 24/7 via app, phone and web.

Coaching, Wellness Advising and Counselling

Students

  • Counselling Services - If you're feeling persistently stressed, anxious, or sad, you can book a Counselling appointment by phone: 604 822 3811
  • Wellness Centre - Get tips and resources on stress, study tips, or navigating university life.
  • UBC Student Assistance Program - Offered by Aspiria, the UBC Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a free, 24/7 wellness resource for students. Services include personal counselling, life coaching, group programs and more based on your needs.

 

Faculty and Staff

  • Helping a colleague in distress - In your role as a UBC staff or faculty member, you may be the first person to see signs that a colleague is in distress, or they may come to you specifically for help. Use this guide to familiarize yourself with commons signs of distress, and the steps you can take to offer assistance.
  • UBC Mental Health Support - Discover services, programs, and resources available to support your mental health and support workplace wellbeing.

 

Sexual Violence Support

  • AMS Sexual Assault Support Centre (SASC) - Since 2002, the AMS Sexual Assault Support Centre (SASC) has been committed to the education, support, and empowerment of people of all genders who are survivors of sexualized violence, as well as their friends and family. They serve UBC students, staff, faculty, and people with a connection to the UBC campus through various resources and services.
  • Sexual Assault Education and Prevention - Raising awareness of issues related to sexual violence, promoting healthy and respectful relationships, and fostering individual and collective action against violence are critical to developing a safe and respectful culture at UBC and beyond.
  • Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SVPRO) - SVPRO is a confidential place for those who have experienced, or been impacted by, any form of sexual or gender-based violence, harassment, or harm, regardless of where or when it took place. They recognize that you are the expert of your own experience and you get to decide what is right for you. They aim to be a safer space for all by respecting each person’s unique and multiple identities and experiences. All genders and sexualities are welcome.
